Can't we all coexist?! With this project, students will research, read, and write about world religions. This covers world history and English content, as well as curates a culture of trust, respect, and responsibility--everyone should feel welcome and safe to learn.

This document contains all the necessary items for a project "roll out." This particular project was a class I co-taught with a freshman social studies teacher. To roll out a project, most teachers have an entry document and team contract. The entry document is a document that contains the skeleton of the overall requirements of the project, such as due dates and driving question. After students read the entry document, students will discuss what they know about the project and what they need to know to complete the project successfully. The teachers answer the students' need to knows.

After students discuss what they know and need to know, the students complete their team contract within their groups.

Groups randomly drew to pick what world religion they would be studying.
Log in to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Analyze various accounts of a subject told in different mediums (e.g., a person’s life story in both print and multimedia), determining which details are emphasized in each account.
Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a text, including figurative, connotative, and technical meanings; analyze the cumulative impact of specific word choices on meaning and tone (e.g., how the language of a court opinion differs from that of a newspaper).
