Students draw a classmate's name and write (in their best Chaucer style) a description that would fit in the general prologue. Students are challenged to follow Chaucer’s rhyme scheme (aa bb cc…) while including physical features, personality, and occupation without mentioning the person's name. Classmates will guess the pilgrim after you have shown your description. I use this in English IV British Literature while studying Canterbury Tales. Instructions include a sample.
