This is a complete Canvas package for the 1st Investigation "Family of Polygons" of Connected Math's Shapes and Designs. The Canvas Package contains a Module for the five problems in the Investigation and is designed to provide the instructor with all of the benefits Canvas and OneNote can deliver to the Connected Math curriculum. The Canvas package includes:
Flipped Lessons with Quiz, Question Bank and Student Self-Evaluation Survey for the following skills:
Fraction of a Number
Area of Rectangles, Triangles, and Parallelograms
Measuring and Naming Angles
Complementary and Supplementary Angles
The Package also includes a OneNote Section which contains an outline for the student responses for each Problem of the Investigation.The outlines can be delivered to students by hard copy or digitally within OneNote for individual work or collaborative work.Each problem of the Investigation has a corresponding assignment in Canvas which includes a rubric for grading student responses.
Each flipped lesson contains a quiz to provide feedback on student progress. The data can be used to design your small groups for the Connected Math Investigation. Research has shown significant gains in student math development when the flipped approach is combined with peer instruction saw.
Your students will have the added benefit of having less anxiety about Connected Math as they have easy access to the support outside of the classroom from the videos which provide clear modeling of key concepts for the Connected Math. Investigations
The Package contains Flipped Lessons for most of the math goals and objectives within each Investigations. Teachers can use the lessons in the Module to support the Connected Math Problems within the Investigations or use the lessons to collect data to analyze student progress towards mastery of goals and objectives of each Investigation.
The Canvas Package is contained in a zip file, and once expanded can be imported into any Canvas LMS. I am currently working on the next CMP3 Investigation and should have the next module completed in time for the coming year.
