Identifying which letters are capital and which are lowercase is certainly a necessary pre-requisite skill to learn so you know when to use capital and lowercase letters. Your most emergent readers need to get familiar with all of the letters in both cases as well as different fonts and variations. This activity is perfect for this skill.
Included in this product, you will find an adorable anchor chart showing children with the letters in the proper sequence. You will also find sorting mats...one for capital and another for lowercase letters. In addition, there are letter cards in various fonts for your students to sort onto the mats. All of these pieces are included in both color and black-line versions to meet your printing needs.
This activity is perfect for a small guided reading group activity. It is also great for a literacy center or Daily 5 activity. Certainly it is a great activity to have on hand for when you parent volunteer pops in unexpectedly!
