One of those frustrating moments in an English teacher's life is when she is correcting a stack of complex, formal, persuasive essays only to find that her students have neglected to capitalize proper nouns, the beginnings of sentences, and even the pronoun "I". YIKES! I developed this Power Point lesson as a quick review for my middle school students, to gently remind them of what they all learned in early elementary school. For most of them, this reminder is enough to refocus them and get those essays looking a little less ... elementary.
