Want a fun activity to get your kids up and moving WHILE still reviewing capitalization rules? Check out this Capitalization rule sort! I used this to randomly assign my students into groups one week.
Here's how I used this activity in my classroom:
I met students at the door and as they walked in they were given a card with an example of a capitalization rule on it.
Their directions on the board said "there are six capitalization rules around the room. you need to find the rule that explains the example you were given. Once you have found the correct rule please have a seat."
Students worked together to help each other figure out whether they were at the correct group and the conversations that were going on during this activity were great!
You don't have to use this to assign groups though, you could print all six rules on one page and then cut out each example and have students work in partners to sort the examples of capitalization rules.
I hope you and your kiddos enjoy this activity as much as we did!
