This is an excellent differentiated and scaffolded worksheet that delves into the captains of industry! You can teach this lesson into two days or one day.

The do now activity will represent a visual of the tier 3 word monopoly with some visuals. Students will activate prior knowledge to determine what the meaning of the word is.

The following page will have a visual of Carnegie, Rockefeller and J.P Morgan with some visuals. On the same page you will have the key terms of a Robber Barron or a Philanthropist. As a class, you can discuss what those terms mean and decide of the captains of industry were Philanthropists or Robber Barron's.

The following pages will have a series of documents about the captains of industry with some guided questions. The documents 1-6 will focus on Carnegie, Rockefeller,and Vanderbilt.

The exit ticket will summarize the similarities and differences between the captains.

This is a great activity as an introduction or review of the captains of Industry. In addition, this is an activity that can be broken up into a series of two days depending on the skill level of your class and your pacing.
