This versatile probability game can be played three ways. The directions for “Capture the King” can also be used for “Capture the Queen” and “Capture the Jack”. Instead of trying to draw a king, players try to draw a queen or a jack.
* Students will also need a deck of playing cards and pencils to play the game.
THIS PRODUCT INCLUDES: Game Directions, Capture the King, Queen, and Jack Recording Sheets
DIRECTIONS: Each player is given a Capture the King Recording Sheet. To begin playing, shuffle the cards and spread them face down in three rows by four columns. Player 1 draws 3 cards and records the number of captured kings on the Recording Sheet. Then Player 1 looks to see if one or more kings were drawn. If there are one or more kings, the player beats the odds and writes, “yes” on the Recording Sheet. If not, then “no” is recorded. Next, Player 1 shuffles the cards and set them up so Player 2 can draw 3 cards and try to beat the odds. When Player 2’s turn is finished the first round is over. Play continues for ten rounds. The player with the highest score wins.
