This is a six-page set of notes for Car, Gar, Zar verbs, a practice sheet, a reading comprehension activity with Car, Gar, Zar verbs, and a quiz as well. Pages 1 and 2 are notes that are well-organized and easy to follow. On the second page, there is a chance for students to practice what they've learned and explain in a paragraph how these verbs are irregular. On pages 3 and 4, there is a reading about a trip to Peru using Car, Gar, Zar verbs. The reader has to conjugate the verbs that are underlined. Then he/she has to answer comprehension questions about the reading. Page 5 has a homework sheet for students to continue to practice what they've learned. The final page is a quiz that can be used in class. It is easy modifiable to suit the needs of the teacher. All instructions for the activities and all reading comprehension questions are in ENGLISH. This is based on a workshop I attended with an expert in World Language, Laura Terrill's assertion that the best way to check comprehension is not through asking questions in the target language about a reading in the target language, but through questions in English about the target language (so kids can't hunt and peck for answers). Laura also asserts that directions should never be in Spanish because that's not practical Spanish the kids will use. So, if you don't like the instructions being in English, you can easily modify that. The last 5 pages are the answer keys for the documents.
