This lab activity aligns with MS-ESS3-5 - Examine and interpret data to describe the role that human activities have played in the rise in global temperatures over the past century
In this lab activity students will analyze CO2 trends over a period of 45 years by graphing real-world data. Next, students will be directed to the WHOI website to collect 3 pieces of evidence that global warming is happening.
As an assessment students will write a C-E-R (Claim, Evidence, Reasoning) conclusion in which they state their claim on global warming, use evidence to back the claim, and the explain how the evidence supports the claim made.
A rubric is included for grading the CER conclusion.
