PLEASE RATE! :) I find that my students struggle with remembering all of the properties of quadrilaterals. I created this card sort and had them work with a partner to match all of the properties for the different quadrilaterals we had studied. The conversation in the room was absolutely amazing! Students would notice that some properties were listed more than once, and they discussed which quadrilaterals had the same properties. After this activity, several students took a picture of the finalized card sort so that they could study it. On the day of the test, I had one student who had printed out the picture, cut up the pieces and was sorting them right before the test! She told me, "We need to do more of these card sorts right before the test. They are so helpful!" That made me thrilled!
I have attached the answer key along with the pieces to be cut up. I recommend printing out each card sort in a different color in case pieces end up on the floor--you will know which bag to put the pieces in! I also recommend laminating the pieces so that you can keep this card sort for future years.
