A classroom friendly version of the popular ‘Cards Against Humanities’, the following resource has been created with the intention of providing students with a lesson of giggles whilst teaching the importance of conjunctions within their writing.
HOW TO PLAY:
Teacher keeps sentence starters and conjunctions. Students receive sentence phrases (I prefer to play this game with students in teams).
Teacher to display conjunctions in a space that is easily visible and accessible to everyone.
Teacher selects a sentence starter and reads it to students. Students are then challenged to use their sentence phrases and select the appropriate conjunctions to create the funniest sentence possible.
For extra motivation students can receive points for the funniest sentence, etc.
