Career Education: Practice Using the Occupational Outlook Handbook
The purpose of this activity is to help students practice using the Internet to research careers. Using the Internet Students will locate the web site for the Occupational Outlook Handbook. The government publishes the Occupational Outlook Handbook in print and online every two years. It has information about careers, including job duties, necessary skills and training, salary ranges, and other information. In this activity students will locate the job information for a cashier. There are 10 questions for the students to answer with an answer key included. Prior to doing the activity I usually demonstrate to students how to navigate through the web site.
After this activity I have students choose their own career to research. Please see the link below to find the activity in our store.
Please see our store for great holiday word searches/scrambles/trivia, keyboarding materials, Microsoft Office materials, business-related materials, and icebreaker activities.
