This is a 21 slide PowerPoint presentation lesson that covers the topic of deciding your career direction. I have included links to 6 Different CAREER INVESTIGATION SITES to support the information you are presenting as well as a FREE INTEREST INVENTORY link. I used this to teach 4 different lessons to my intermediate students. They enjoyed being able to use their laptops to explore a variety of careers and learn what possibilities were out there. What a deal! FOUR lessons for the price of one???
Concepts covered include:
• How interests, skills, abilities, values and goals influence career choice;
• Importance of advanced training no matter what field you plan to pursue;
• Future prospects for jobs and how it influences choices;
• And options besides a 4-year college degree.
There is a link to a free interest inventory that generates a list of jobs that are tailored to fit the results of the inventory when a student finishes. The jobs are also links to more information about the job, education, pay, etc.
This presentation includes 21 slides which have transitions, clip art, and animations to help to hold your students' interest. I have embedded background music that I have found helpful to hold student interest.
Additionally, there are QR Codes to help students access the web sites easily without having to type in addresses (which is ALWAYS a hassle no matter the age of the student!)
This lesson could very easily be turned into many presentations with investigating one web site at a time. That is how I am using it, so it will be useful for more than just one lesson.
You may want to rearrange the slides to make this presentation fit your needs. I have them arranged the way that makes sense for my students, but that may not be the best way for you.
Web sites are NOT embedded, but are links. I do not own them or control them, so if there is a problem with a broken link or something else, please let me know so that I can repair, replace, or fix the presentation for you. Anytime you have technology incorporated, you have the risk of having related issues.
I appreciate communication so that I can provide the best possible service for you. In the event that a link does not work, please contact me via the “TpT QUESTIONS” page, and I will do my best to remedy the situation for you!!
**NOTE*** links do not work in editing mode in Powerpoint. They are only active in presentation mode. Please be aware of this.
