Students should begin thinking about which careers fit their interests and abilities. There are many websites, paid and free, which assess students this way and suggest careers based on these ideas. This research unit then allows students to research a selected career track, including the education/training needed, working environment, salary/compensation, and future outlook. I have included the preferred way of tracking research on notecards, including sources, an example outline, and a fill-in-the-blank outline for students who may need it. There are guiding questions to provide students a guided research model, and even a date due format page with manageable chunks for research! This has been a favorite project of my students for years now!
