This is a worksheet that I use at the beginning of a career unit to help students identify aspects of a future workplace and career that are important to them. This worksheet asks students to think about what is important to them, with lists of words that they may value. Once students have identified elements that are important to them, they are asked to define each word, to be sure they know what these words really mean, and then they need to explain why each word is important to them for a future career. I use this to help guide students in the selection process of careers that they may want to research for their future, as the aspects they have identified on this sheet should play a role in the types of careers they look into.
This worksheet includes sample answers to ensure students understand what acceptable work looks like here.
