This activity was designed as a way to expose students to a variety of career options. The “Top 25 In Demand Jobs & Fastest Growing Occupations” citation listed below was the inspiration for teaching students about the jobs that are most in demand through 2024. This activity teaches students how to quickly research & skim information about a topic, while through repetition, specifically builds career research skills & familiarity with the Occupational Outlook Handbook.

This activity is flexible in how you choose to execute it. Here are some options:
1) Bell Ringer: Each student will choose a career to explore each day upon entering class.
2) Bell Ringer: Teacher chooses the career of the day. Students work in pairs, then teacher leads a quick, whole class discussion about that career.
3) Early Finisher/Extended Activity: Students are responsible for completing the activity by a set deadline. This activity is used for early finishers, emergency sub-plan activity or even those days when unforeseen interruptions arise.
When the activity is complete, the teacher leads students in a whole-class discussion to wrap up and assess learning.
