A presentation about artists who use the human body as their canvas
While earning a degree in art, the only careers I heard much about were teaching, museum work, advertising, or "starving" artists, but there are many more careers that benefit from creativity and artistic knowledge. The purpose of the Careers in Art presentations is to introduce students to other career possibilities -- either in art or other fields where an art background is useful -- and to inspire them by showing people who have successfully found their niche with art and design.
This Powerpoint presents 4 careers in body art as well as 3 artists who have found their niche working with the human body. Each slide has teacher notes with more information. The preview file gives an example of the slides and the accompanying notes.
The careers described are tattoo artist, makeup artist in beauty, makeup artist in theater, and face painter. The 3 artists are Elizabeth of LA Henna, Craig Tracy, and Liu Bolin.
All images have been used with the artists' permission. To protect their rights, the Powerpoint has been flattened and is not editable.
