PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a science experiment that demonstrates how water travels up stems. It is perfect for the parts of the plant study as well as defining the function of a stem.

Students will individually get a carnation, food coloring, and water, and observe what happens to a white carnation when it "drinks" colorful water.

Materials will need to be provided by teacher and include:
-water
-cups/water bottles
-white carnations
-food coloring
-copies of student pages

Included in this product are several extensions to increase your students' understanding of stems.

In addition, the writing portion of this experiment is a great language arts cross curricular activity!!
