The Movie: Andrew Carnegie - Prince of Steel: (free on-line)

This movie is one of the best rags to riches stories of them all. It details the life of Andrew Carnegie (1835-1919), a self-made steel tycoon, and one of the wealthiest businessmen of the 19th century. He was three times richer than Rockefeller.

Born to a poor Scottish family that immigrated to the United States, Carnegie became a powerful businessman and a leading force in the American steel industry. Today, he is remembered as an industrialist, millionaire, and philanthropist.

In the last 20 years of his life (after becoming the world's first billionaire in 1900) Carnegie set the standard for philanthropy.
