This is a guided listening unit over the Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns. In the PowerPoint presentation, you will find the following information:
-History of Saint-Saëns
-Instrument Diagram Divided by Family
-Several Versions of Title Slides to accommodate different versions
-French Title Names
-Instruments Used in Each Movement
-Listening/Video Samples (links to YouTube-no audio samples in file)
-Reflection/Discussion on what makes the movements sound like specific animals
-Extra Slides which are editable
The PowerPoint presentation has all of the slides listed above, but I have included a ready-to-use PDF with slides I have chosen myself if you don't have title preferences to the pieces.
To access the SafeShareTV videos: If using at school, make sure your district does not block YouTube. SafeShareTV links take YouTube links and take away ads, side material, and related videos. You can always make use of this activity without SafeShareTV or YouTube, just delete the slides with the examples and use your own listening materials. If you are in edit mode of the PPT, the presentation will think you are trying to edit the file, and will not take you to the link provided. Make sure to start the presentation/slideshow to make the links clickable.
