This packet contains 6 slides with beautiful color photographs of animals. I project these onto my classroom whiteboard to introduce the topic and to facilitate discussion. The first 3 slides show an animal identified as a carnivore, herbivore, or omnivore. The next 3 slides show 3 different animals – their diet is listed and students must figure out if they are a carnivore, herbivore, or omnivore.
As a follow-up, have your students complete the worksheet "Carnivore, Herbivore, Omnivore". They must read what 12 different animals eat and then decide which column to put the animals in: carnivore, herbivore, omnivore. This is a cut and paste activity that students can work on independently.
