This "Carrot Crunch" game is the perfect activity to practice making ten OR to use with missing addend problems with your students.
Personally, I use these adorable bunny bags and carrot erasers I found at Target to play the game, but you can use any manipulatives you have! Simply print, grab some materials, and play.
To play making ten: students will start with 10 "carrots" and play with a partner. One partner will feed the bunny some "carrots" while the other is closing their eyes. When they open their eyes, they will use the counters that they see and the ten frame to figure out how many "carrots" the other partner fed the bunny. Then they record the number sentence, either as addition to 10 or subtraction from 10.
To play missing addend: Follow the same rules above, but use your desired amount of counters. Students will fill in either the addition or subtraction number sentence accordingly.
