The Carryover Calendar is a great resource for parents to help their
child practice their initial diagraphs over extended breaks or summer vacation. The Carryover Calendar for initial diagraphs package includes: the Calendar, Bingo cards for each initial diagraphs, Nursery Rhymes targeting the initial diagraphs, Word Lists and Discrimination Lists for the initial diagraphs, a Word Sort activity, and pictures of items that use the initial diagraphs for a Picture Matching activity.
The Calendar gives 30 suggestions for daily activities where you can practice with your child focusing on saying and recognizing initial diagraphs. Activities range from reciting a nursery rhyme that uses the target sound, singing a song that uses the initial diagraphs, playing games such as Picture Matching, Bingo or a board game, such as Candyland, or a card game such as Go Fish. Some activities involve thinking of nouns or verbs that contain initial diagraphs. Other activities include reading stories or making up stories using words with initial diagraphs.
The Nursery Rhymes pages, Word List pages, Word Sort worksheet, Discrimination Word List, Bingo Cards, and Picture
pages are included as resources for the calendar.
