Great for beginner ELL and ESL students learning English, this activity takes students through real-world examples of ten basic colors in English, using cars (Japanese ones, if students ask!).
Once the colors are introduced or reviewed, the teacher puts them out of sight and surprises the ESL or ELL students with a worksheet that features all ten cars once again, but this time in black and white. Can they remember which car was which color?
Speaking practice is also included either during the activity in partners or between teacher and students as they check the answers at the end. "What color is the car? The car is ____."
