In this graphing puzzle, the student will:
1). graph piece-wise functions.
2). graph parabolas in vertex form, standard form, and intercept form.
3). graph horizontal and vertical line segments.
4). graph line segments using slope-intercept form
5). graph absolute value functions.
6). graph line segments using slope-intercept form.
Our Cartesian Cartoon Puzzle series is intended to offer different slants and blends from most of the “graphing ordered pairs” worksheets and puzzles that are currently on the market. As with all our puzzles we hope to blend and integrate as many topics as we can in any one puzzle by reviewing old concepts and skills while introducing new ones . . . and add a touch of humor, or depth, when we are able. Our Cartesian Coordinate puzzles are split into two “sections.” Fifteen puzzles review and introduce skills that middle school students are expected to become proficient with . . . and fourteen puzzles blend, review, and work with skills important for high school students to become familiar with before they matriculate to the university level. Both sets of puzzles can be purchased individually, or as a set for a discounted price.
The middle school graphing parts of the puzzles concentrate on graphing points, making segments/plane figures, symmetry, and reflecting across both the x- and y-axis. The fill-in-the-blanks parts of the puzzles concentrate on setting up algebra skills and reviewing arithmetic skills.
The high school graphs concentrate on piecing together domains, ranges, and the graphing of various functions important to success in upper level math. Cartoons are drawn in the Cartesian Plane using linear, absolute value, and quadratic equations with a knowledge of domains and ranges. After doing a few of these your students will understand the above-mentioned topics as never before.
