Cartoon Rules for Kids Written by Kinders

My first kindergarten class made up their own rules for our classroom.

Here is a fun video and project you can do with your class.

Talk about rules with your children (rules at home, in the classroom, on the playground and in our country).
Pass out paper and ask students to take a few minutes to make up some rules.
(Non-writers can draw their rules.)

1. home
2. classroom
3 playground
4. country

Next, share the video with your children.
Discuss. What do you think of these rules? Do they fit all ages? All people?
Say, "Look at your rules - do you want to change them?"
Next, have students meet with a group to share and listen to each other's ideas.
Have each group decide on one or two rules for each category.
Appoint a scribe to write down group-rules.
Now, each group can share one or two of the rules with the classroom.

Students can make posters that advertise their favorite rule.

Karen's Kids motto, "Sharing, caring and working together, helping to make the world a better place."
