Here's another composition in the major scale (Ionian). This one introduces students to pattern sequencing and arpeggios.
Students have that "a-ha" moment when I show them how the sequences add up. With the BoomWhackers I make 8 students line up, and 3 of them step up to play each measure. When they see how the arpeggios actually make up chords, they're excited to come up with their own chords and sequences.
This one is a bit long winded since it offers no respite in terms of rests, but it truly does sound like a cascade of notes moving up and down the scale.
The sheet music is colored and matches the BoomWhackers and Desk Bells. High quality printouts can be made on A4 sized paper. Instructions are included on the sheets for students to follow up with their own ideas.
Accompanying YouTube videos are in the process of being made, and I will share them soon.
