Description

This case study focuses on a common problem in small dog breeds, patella luxation. Students examine data from a veterinary journal article that links a SNP (single nucleotide polymorphism) to the condition in dogs.

Case study explores topics like comparative anatomy, the stifle joint of dogs, and DNA sequencing to identify the SNP associated with patellar luxation. I designed this mainly for AP biology students to bridge the genetics unit to the anatomy unit. Plus, students love to talk about dogs!
