I created this lesson for my Economics class. It could be used for Geography (since basic econ concepts should be taught in geography). The only part of this activity that may not be able to be completed is the creation of a production possibilities curve, which is on a separate sheet by itself so you can easily omit it. This activity is a review (students apply concepts) of the following concepts: scarcity, factors of production, and production possibilities curve (tradeoff and opportunity costs). There is a pre-movie assignment where students read about Fred Smith and the creation of FedEx. There are only four movie questions but they have to watch the movie to complete the chart work (one is provided for you in the preview). Question 5 is the PPC. There are two optional bonus projects where the students compare and contrast Cast Away with Lord of the Flies (novel)...one project - stranded island, use of resources, importance of fire, how fire started, etc. Second project - create ending to Lord of the Flies. There is also an optional REQUIRED project the students can do. That project is on a separate page so you can include it or not. If you have any questions please let me know!
