Addition fact fluency is essential to math success. These Catch A Bug games are the perfect resource to work on that skill. This game is easily played alone or in pairs, making it ideal for use in center time, as work for extra finishers, and more.

The first type of game board is when the sum is given. These game boards all require two traditional dice (such as two copies of the included printable worm dice). You will notice the sum is given in a different form on each of these three game boards-- traditional numerals, roman numerals, and tally marks. I did this so that in addition to addition fact fluency, students can also work on other math skills, such as roman numerals and tally marks.

Students will roll two dice and figure out them sum. Then, students will find the sum on the game board and cover it with one of the bug game pieces. The object of the game is to catch all the bugs (cover all the sums) in the bug jar.

The next game board an equation is given. For this game, students only roll ONE dice. The number the roll is their sum. Students will then use a bug game piece to cover an equation on the board that results in the sum they've rolled. Again, the object is to catch all the bugs in the bug jar.

There are two versions of this game board- one with smaller equations and one with larger equations. The smaller equations game board only results in sums up to 6 and uses a traditional dice. The larger equations game board results in sums between 7 and 12, so the large numbers dice included in this packet will need to be used.

This packet truly has a lot to offer. With 5 game variations, your students will have many ways to practice their addition fact fluency.

Thank you again for your purchase I hope you enjoy the Catch A Bug Addition Games as much as I do.
