Included in this 16-page pack you'll find materials to target a variety of speech and language objectives including: Irregular Past Tense, Possessives, Prepositions, Answering Wh-questions, Increasing MLU, Categories, Following 1-2 Step Directions, and Producing /k/ in words
2-6: A repetitive story with which students may practice using irregular past tense verbs "ran," and "ate" to answer "Who" questions (e.g., "Who did the Gingerbread Man run away from?")
7-8: Fox and Gingerbread Man pictures which may be cut, laminated and used to follow the 1-step directions, placing the fox on the pond background and the Gingerbread Man on the fox's tail, back, and nose.
9-10: 2-step directions students may follow to decorate their own Gingerbread Man using crayons
11-14: Another repetitive story in which students are encouraged to use possessives and prepositions to answer the question "Where is the Gingerbread Man?" (e.g., "The Gingerbread Man is on the fox's tail.")
15: A fun sentence strip targeting use of negation in sentences. Visuals may be cut for placement in the Gingerbread Man's speech bubble or students may simply finish the sentence by pointing to each character (e.g., You can't catch me Cow!)
16: Gingerbread characters and images may be cut and laminated, then sorted by students into the appropriate category - Animals, People, and Food.
17: Targeted /K/ Articulation Practice in 2- and 3- syllable words. Targets may be first modeled before encouraging imitation and spontaneous production. A great handout for parents looking for more practice at home!
I hope you enjoy this story companion as much as my students and I have! If you have any feedback I'd love to hear from you!
