This is a lesson plan for upper elementary and middle schools students to create a Catching Hearts game By the end of this lesson, each student or partner group will have created a game where 1 player moves their character to catch as many hearts as they can in a certain time. This also includes a high score!
Prior to teaching this lesson, a basic familiarity of scratch is encouraged, but not necessary. This lesson could be used to incorporate STEM or in a technology/computer lab. We used these lessons after Hour of Code week in my computer class! This program will not work with the Scratch, Jr iPad app.
The first page is an overview of the lesson including objectives, standards, and materials. The next 10 pages are detailed lesson plan including screenshots. The last 2 pages are a detailed lesson plan that could be printed front/back and used in reference during the actual teaching lesson.
