I use this project in my Introduction to Business and Marketing course. Through this activity students will compare and contrast the three primary types of business ownership: sole proprietorship, partnership, and corporation.
Students are given two sheets of paper: one with characteristics of different forms of business ownership to cut into slips and one with a grid for sorting. Students will cut out each slip and position them in the grid to create a graphic organizer. After each slip has been placed you should have students check their answers before having students glue or tape slips into the correct box. Then, ask students why each slip was placed in each category.
