This free download includes a set of 34 cards organized into 10 categories, with 3-4 cards per category. These cards are black and white, but can easily be printed on colored paper or cardstock.
In my own classroom, I've used these cards for icebreaker and teambuilding activities. For my third graders, I distributed the cards without revealing the categories; students then had to explore the room and arrange themselves into groups. Each group then attempted to name their category. You can easily add modifications [ex. revealing the categories first] and challenges [ex. making students find their group without talking] to fit your students.
These cards can be used in many other ways - randomly assigning partners or groups, categorization practice, center activity, etc. I included 30 cards to accommodate larger class sizes, but cards and/or categories can be easily removed to fit your class size.
I hope you enjoy utilizing this free product in your classroom!
