Time to Sort your LOVE MAIL!
Category Correspondence is a great visual way to introduce the idea of categories to your students. Use the sorting mats (mailboxes) and match the mail to each corresponding group or category. 8 simple categories are included, with 3 matching cards for each category: food, drinks, clothing, toys, animals, furniture, transportation and insects.
Included in this packet:
Pages 3-5: Mail (24 pictures/envelopes plus 3 blank envelopes)
Pages 6-10: Mailbox sorting mats (8 total with categories plus 2 blank)
Pages 11-13: Make Your Own Mailbox Craft!
Page 13: Category Cards (for use as decoration and sorting—have a real mailbox in your room? Velcro these pics on the outside and sort that way!).
Page 14: Compare and Contrast worksheet
Print and laminate mail and mailboxes and cut apart. Sort mail to the correct mailboxes. Create your own mailbox(es) or sort pictures to the mats included. Use the “compare and contrast” worksheet to further develop those vocabulary skills!
