This is a resource full of exclusion examples
for students to identify and tell about. As Sesame Street says, “One of these things is not like the others…”
A variety of summer vocabulary is used, but non-seasonal images are also used and this activity can be used year-round.
☀️ Students identify which item does belong in each set of 4 or more. Some of the differences are more subtle than others.
☀️ Students may need some scaffolding to determine what’s different.
☀️ Then they tell what the other items have in common.
☀️ And then they tell why this item doesn’t belong.
A variety of different types of images have been used. The pages are provided in 2 formats; full page, and 1/4 pg to use as cards.
☀️ A visual cues page is provided for students to get started, or for those who need them all the way through.
