12 Eager Caterpillars with 3 Valentine related words on them
2 Blank pages for you to use.
1 Noun, Verb, Adjective sorting mat for extended activities.
1 Visual for Subject+Verb+Object sentence generation.
How to use:
Cut out all the butterflies and the caterpillars. Put them in two piles.
Have the students pick a butterfly (sight word) and a caterpillar ( nouns, verbs, adjectives) and formulate a sentence using the sight word and one or two words from the caterpillar, depending on what your students can handle. Students can earn a point for each words that they use. Have fun and see what crazy sentences they can come up with!
Note: If you don’t have time to cut them up individually, cut them in strips and use the parallel caterpillar and butterfly.
Additional uses: cut out the cards and drill the sight words. Make copies for your students and place them on key chain rings. Print two copies and play a matching game. Use the caterpillars to identify parts of speech and use with sorting mat on page 8. The possibilities are endless!
