This is about a 15-30 minute activity.
Students receive a "Programmed Reading" on the Counter Reformation. It is a small packet that has 2 columns. The left column is the reading. The right column has questions to which the answers can be found in the reading right next to the question. Once students finish a page, they will get out of their seat to obtain an answer key (included) and check their answers. Then they will return the key and do page 2 and repeat the process.
Once the students have completed the reading and questions, they will have a graphic organizer to complete. The graphic organizer is based upon the information in the reading. It asks for the four main parts of the Counter Reformation and a thought question to be answered. It is the graphic organizer that I would often collect and grade as it is the culmination of the activity.
