Teach the Catholic perspective on and involvement in U.S. wars. From the French and Indian War to the Vietnam War, have students discover how Catholics were impacted. Expose students to the Just War Doctrine. Help students discover what the bishops had to say about WWII and the Vietnam War.
Lesson plans and handouts / students activities included for each lesson as well as assessment and follow-up ideas. Lessons aligned to standards and designed to be integrated into 6th-8th grade social studies classes. Lessons can be implemented in 15 to 50 minutes.
