If you're looking for a good writing activity to feature on a bulletin board for Catholic School Week, this may be for you! In this activity, you will be provided with everything you need to teach your students how to write a haiku. The students will ultimately feature their CSW-inspired haiku on a party hat which will sit atop the student's head. You'll have all the patterns you need to do this with the students. The end result is a cute, bright bulletin board. I've always been successful with this activity and have gotten many compliments. The students enjoy the writing and the art part.
This is a 20-page packet. The 20 pages include:
-Student printable explanation of activity
-2 grading rubrics (1 is more simple; the other more in depth)
-Haiku worksheet (practice page for the students, also with a CSW theme)
-2 religious printables for students to write their haiku
-5 party hats for students to choose from (each with its own CSW statement) Party hats will be where students feature final haiku
-3 overhead transparencies focusing on haiku
-2 face patterns (1 blank for boy or girl; 1 girl)
