Help students finally understand cause and effect with this easy-to-use chart! I designed this template to use with fiction pieces, but I quickly found that strong non-fiction pieces, such as historical events, work just as well. By focusing on one text event at a time, students analyze what causes an event to happen and how that event effects other things.
Tip: You can use this to teach paraphrasing or citing text evidence. This can also be used as a pre-writing activity.
