    This bundle contains read aloud follow up activities on cause & effect. It was originally created to connect to the Common Core Long Journey to Freedom unit for 2nd grade. The featured books cover historical figures and events from the Underground Railroad, the life of Abraham Lincoln, and the Reconstruction Era.Students will complete a cause and effect diagram identifying causes and effects for events in the stories. Students are also challenged to create their own cause and effect diagram from the story on the back.

    Cause & Effect student activities are provided for: The Patchwork Path by Bettye Stroud, Follow the Drinking Gourd by Jeanette Winter, Night Boat to Freedom by Margot Theis Raven, Henry's Freedom Box by Ellen Levine, Abe Lincoln's Hat by Martha Brenner, Lincoln and Grace: Why Abraham Lincoln Grew a Beard, Ellen's Broom by Kelly Starling Lyons, and Freedom on the Menu by Carole Boston Weatherford.
