This lesson and worksheet were developed as a way to literally let students participate in creating their own causes (where an effect is given) and their own effects (where causes are given). All of the workbook practices I encountered for 20 years basically asked students to identify causes and effects, not create them themselves. This worksheet helps them truly grasp and apply the concepts.
The lesson may be used to introduce cause and effect, or to reinforce a lesson previously given. Complete Teacher Directions offer ways to easily demonstrate cause and effect to the class before helping them apply it, as well as ways to ensure they understand the terms.
The PREVIEW will offer you a shortened version of the exercise. Please note: The worksheet contained in this product is offered in two versions (both included)--one with blanks in which you may write student names, personalizing the practice, and one with random names already written in.) Please preview before ordering for first grade.
*If you would like for me to personalize the practice with your students' first names, please send me a note via TpT.
