This packet is intended to have students practice
-Reading non-fiction excerpts for understanding
-Finding main idea
-Finding proper supporting evidence to support the main idea
-Have students write a short argument using evidence from their reading.
This could be done over 2 class periods. In the first class period, students will read and pull main idea and evidence from the documents. In the second class period, students will decide for themselves what side they believe is true and answer the inquiry question “What do you think caused King Tut’s death? Why?” Students are expected to choose and use evidence from the work they did with the documents the previous day to support their argument.
