This 6 page Document based Activity has everything your students need to examine some of the reasons why the Colonists were willing to take up arms against Great Britain. Students will examine excerpts from the Declaration to Take Up Arms- July 1775 and from a 1775 political cartoon. They will be guided through a set of comprehension questions to understand why the colonists took up arms against Great Britain. A creative Exit Card/ Assessment activity is included.
