For students to summarize and illustrate each event that is considered a cause of the American Revolution, in the format of a large illustrated timeline.
The timeline is large, and uses five sheets of 8.5x11 paper.
The events included on the illustrated timeline are: the French and Indian War, the Stamp Act, the Townshend Acts, the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party, the Intolerable Acts, the First Continental Congress, the battles of Lexington and Concord, the Second Continental Congress.
In my classroom, I used this project as an assessment/review activity after each event was discussed in class. I had my students complete this project as a literacy center after each of these topics were discussed. It extended throughout my unit on the Revolutionary War, and took my students about two weeks to complete.
This is just how I used this project in my classroom, but you may of course use it in whatever way works best in yours!
