This packed resource includes a PowerPoint presentation, article, guided notes, graphic organizers, summarizing activities, and maps for information covered in the SS8H5a Georgia Studies standard/element. The topics include slavery, states' rights, nullification, Missouri Compromise, Compromise of 1850, Kansas- Nebraska Act, Dred Scott case, the election of 1860, and Georgia's debate over secession. (If you don't teach Georgia Studies and would like a general, less-Georgia-focused product, send me a message and we can talk about generating a similar product for you! However, there is only a minimal amount of information about Georgia specifically, and it can be lifted right out!)

This resource should take 3-4 days to cover, depending on thelength of class periods. The two closing/summarizing activities at the end are great for sub work or homework as well!
