Integration and differentiation are the key to engaging students, and this project has it all! Students will make a mobile that shows a summary of each major event leading up to the American Revolution, in addition to an original symbol of the event. Students will be practicing vital reading skills (summarizing and synthesizing) while simultaneously learning about the cause and effect cycle leading up to the Revolution. They will then solidify their learning by creating an original symbol that they will color and attach to a coat hanger to create a mobile! These can be hung as decor in your classroom to remind students what they have learned!
This packet includes a detailed explanation of the project, links to student-approved articles for summaries, and summary templates. It also includes these resources for your more advanced, higher-level readers.
