Often times people look at cave drawing as crude doodles on the walls of caves by prehistoric people. But, the most recent scholarship suggests that early humans wrote of the walls of caves for specific purposes. This PowerPoint explains the three prevailing theories on how to interpret and analyze Cave Art. It also provides an extension activity for students to explore and analyze Cave Art from the preserved cave writings from 15,000 BCE in the Chauvet Cave in France with a link to the Bradshaw Foundation. Our class mascot, Geo, will be lead you through the slideshow with his witty puns and jokes.
